Wheel Monitor is a research and development company dedicated to creating the technology necessary to ensure truck and trailer safety, and to enhance vehicle instrumentation, communications and fleet management. Our expertise includes sensors, data acquisition, embedded systems, vehicle communication protocols and heavy vehicle electronics. All of our products follow SAE standards development program for hardware, software, and environmental protection.

Wheel Monitor's unique sensor network can read cargo temperatures, door status and standard analog values. The easy-to-install Wheel Monitor point-to-point wiring system saves truck operators both time and money.

Need a different application? Simply plug in a new sensor.

Our wheel direction sensor (RM-50)monitors the direction, speed and distance of a trailer to activate lift or steer axles and backup alarm. Wheel Monitor also has rear obstacle detection systems as stand alone functions on your trailer. Wheel vibration, axle and temperature sensors monitor the hub bearings and brakes to alert a driver of any dangerous circumstances (EWS-3000).

Data acquisition combines signal conditioning, digital and serial data inputs and analogue to digital conversion. Mathematical calculations, long-term storage and transmission to database software are employed to complete the process. Usable information is the goal.

Products range from 8 to 32 bits and use Real Time Operation System (RTOS) for complex software functions. We offer fast development and customized functions to meet your needs.

We are experts in power line carrier communication between tractors and trailers (SAE J2497). We handle seamless communications from RS232 to another RS232 port through the existing power line. WMI can convert the communication protocols between J1939, J1587, J1850 and RS232 in real time. PLC4Trucks. Power Line Communications, can improve fleet management at minimum cost.

Electronic equipment in the automotive industry can experience large voltage spikes. Our embedded systems utilize transient protection for all I/Os and power lines to satisfy SAE J1455 environmental testing. Watertight or fully potted enclosures protect our electronics from the harsh highway environment of North America and all the concerns of reliable circuit protection are addressed.
